About Us
Dysart Education Foundation (DEF) founded in 1985, awards college scholarships to high school seniors that demonstrate academic excellence, community involvement, and are in need of financial assistance.
DEF also puts money directly into classrooms though teaching grants that enable teachers to provide innovative and exciting programs for students. Teachers who want to implement a project that will further engage and educate their students can fill out a grant application and submit it to DEF. Our mini-grant committee comprises of retired teachers. They choose the best proposals based on the objective of its ability to educate, engage, and excite students about learning.
Some examples of how grants that were awarded last year include: literacy programs, new equipment for a high school chemistry lab, smart boards in several classrooms, and robotics kits so that students could create, design, build, test, and analyze a working robot. These are things that will excite students about learning, and help to build the future leaders of our community.
DEF is completely run by volunteers which ensures that every donation goes directly to funding scholarships and grants. Our board is comprised of retired teachers, professors, administrators, community leaders, and parents. DEF cares about our community and is dedicated to supporting the future leaders of our community through education!
